Tamar den Bok (b. 2003) is a Dutch documentary photographer and filmmaker currently based in London. Their work starts with a specific, almost ordinary observation, and then uses this to open up a larger question about identity, intimacy, memory, performance, or reality.
Often moving between intimacy and political urgency, their practice aims not only to document, but also to affect, question, and mobilise. By doing so thet have worked both independently and in collaboration with humanitarian organisations across diverse geographical and cultural contexts, with projects undertaken in Ukraine, Malawi, Armenia, Albania, and beyond.
